~D B Headquarters~ The Seedy Side of the Tracks
June 29, 1975-Babz gets married at the tender age of 16. I was a couple months pregnant. The woman on the left, my mother-in-law, sat the shotgun down, just long enough, for this picture.

Oh. My. Word.
Married at 16!! That seems so achingly young.
You did look pretty hot though...which one is the groom? beard guy??
JJ, thanks, I thought I was sooooo grown up too. My husband is the King Tut looking character standing on my left(on the right, in the pic line-up). He had the nickname, "The Executioner," but you could never tell it by that stupid shit eating grin on his face. He told me, later, he'd scored, when he married me. I broke his heart.
Back in 1968, my mom and dad got married. She was pregnant and 16. I came along in February of 1969. Thank God for teen sex!
I had the nickname "The Procrastinator" well I would have done. Nice day for a white wedding.
i can't get over the who get up!! W-O-W!!
You look so pretty though!
16! omg! how long did you stay together with that guy?
Jeff, In 69, I was 10 and starting to get into trouble. It took me 6 more years to really fuck it all up. But I loved my sons, they complete me and I can't imagine life w/o them.
Old Knudsen, you're too much, lol! Thanks but I should not have been wearing white, that's for damn sure.
Xmichra, thanks. I have always hated dressing up and couldn't wait to put my jeans on. Not long after that, I had to unbutton those jeans a little more every month till I just couldn't wear them. OMG maternity clothes were so hideous back then. I hated it.
Webmiztris, I'm still married to him. He died in 1989 and we were still married. I've been a widow a long time, huh? But I'd left him and we were separated after 9 yrs. Then, he died from Hep C. Always loved him, I just waited for him to get his shit together. Never happened.
Life or death we are all still together Sister Babs.
Gog, comforting words. Thus, even given the opportunity, I never remarried.
wow that's even more amazing - that was one lonnnnng marriage.
JJ, 32 years. He kept fucking up, ya know. So, I'd threatened to leave and finally did. I hoped he'd get his shit together but he fell into despair and disrepair. he started to shoot coke, and got Hep C before they even knew what it was. On his hospital room door was a quarantine notice and it said "Hepatitis Non A, Non B." They came out with a diagnosis and testing identity, the year he died, 1989.
I loved him and waited but he never got it together.
that's very impressive that you 2 were together that long!
I should have check in sooner, almost missed this post! Hey Babs, can you believe I was still getting dolls for Christmas at 15. I can't imagine getting married at 16!
AZCG, I've been busy designing a website and had posted this several days ago. Sometimes I can't believe I've been a Mom since I was 16 too. My son was born a week before my 17th B'Day. Seems like a whole other chapter, another life.
