*Editor's Note; I received this in an email and found myself remembering this tragic murder. The email asks the reader to forward the email and add their signature, numbered at the bottom. I could not bring myself to sign it. Now I know my signature does not make or break it but when I am passionate/intent/enthralled about something, I must look at all angles.

I do imagine, if this had happened to my child, these two boys might not have made it to court. I most likely would have sniped them myself. If they had made it to court, I would have probably pressed for a Life sentence (Death Penalty in America) and would have a real hard time seeing any other form of Justice. Now, if I were the Mother of either one of these boys, these young defendants, of course I would be mortified but I would have unconditional love for my child. Separation from this further, maybe I'm the Auntie? Is there no second chance, I might ask? Is it possible that these boys did not understand the true ramifications of their crimes? I know it says that they'd done what they could to mask their crime which shows intent or rather a knowing of "right and wrong," right? But a child of that age, does he really and truly understand how heinous his act was? Does he comprehend just how life altering his act was? Could they absorb the very fact that what they'd done was real and they'd taken a life because of their actions? Let's face it, we have Laws in place as a deterrent for crime. They are not enacted simply for the sake of Justice but in hopes of, an ulterior preventive strategy. Could these children possibly put it all together, you know, the train of thought and measure that they'd get more than a spanking from Mum, for their actions? There were several factors that played a part in the "reasoning" phase of trying to understand this crime. I wish we had learned from it but all these years later, I can see that we have learned very little. It is worthy of note, that these boys, were exposed to violent movies, while one of the boys lived violence in the home. Taken out of this environment, is it possible to rehabilitate, to grow and mature, to comprehend the full magnitude of your crime? Upon that enlightenment is it possible for a true measure of remorse to be displayed?

When it's all said and done, why do we sentence people with the possibility of Parole unless we believe in rehabilitation?

Do you remember February 1993 in England , when a
young boy of 3 was taken from a Liverpool shopping
center by two 10-year-old boys?
Jamie Bugler walked away from his mother for only
a second, Jon Enables took his hand and led him out
of the mall with his friend Robert Thompson. They took
Jamie on a walk for over 2 and a half miles, along the
way stopping every now and again to
torture the poor little boy who was crying
constantly for his mummy.

Finally they stopped at a railway track where they
brutally kicked him, threw stones at him, rubbed paint
in his eyes, pushed batteries up his anus and cut his
fingers off with scissors. Other mutilations were
inflicted but not reported in the press.

N.B. :- Remember, a 3year old cannot possibly
defend themselves against a 10 year old, let alone of 2 them.

What these two boys did was so horrendous that
Jamie's mother was forbidden to identify his body.
They then left his beaten small body on railway
tracks so a train could run him over to hide the mess
they had created. These two boys, even being boys,
understood what they did was wrong, hence trying to
make it look like an accident.

This week Lady Justice Butler-Sloss has awarded
the two boys ( now men ), anonymity for the rest of
their lives when they leave custody with new
identities. They will also leave custody early only
serving just over half of their sentence.
They are being relocated to Australia to live out
the rest of their lives. They disgustingly and
violently took Jamie's life away and in return they
each get a new life!

Please.... . If you feel as strongly as we do, (
and if you haven't already signed this petition ) that
this is a grave Miscarriage of justice - Hit the

**There are several discrepancies within and surrounding this story, notably batteries were not placed in his anus but in his mouth. As well, they did not use scissors to cut the child's fingers off. What can we learn from this entire situation? What can we understand about ourselves, while looking in the mirror concerning our approach, our handling of this unfortunate act from the emails sent to the release of these defendants?
