In My Perfect World
If you've ever seen the flick, "Brainstorm," this will all make sense to you. I have a synopsis of it, below.
It was Natalie Woods last movie, had an all star cast with the likes of Christopher Walken and (Nurse Kratchett,One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest), Louise Fletcher. Anyway, if we could actually design some of this medical technology, it would answer society's problematic behavior, with the flick of a switch.
The premise of the movie is they were able to record, with this gadget, a persons thoughts and feelings, during an experience, i.e. Drag Racing, on a Rollercoaster, parachuting and so on. They could put this device on another person and that person would feel, with awesome reality, the exact feelings, that person felt. This movie has an ingenious ending and is worth watching.
I would have a world tilting and pragmatic use for it. Let me explain; I could give a flying fuck, if you ever experience the thrill of parachuting or bungee jumping. What I would love to use this divine experiment for, would shake the world into understanding.
You would be required to go through an intense and maiming car accident, in order to obtain your drivers license. Then, your punk ass wouldn't drive like you couldn't or will never die. On your very first offense, a Sexual Offender, would have to endure being molested and raped by someone bigger and badder, as well as anyone who exhibits that behavior or language, i.e. Dick Masterson and his goon squad. Those boneheads will have to endure, what it is to be violated and go through a violent rape by someone more powerful in a physical aspect. And I don't care who you are, there's always someone bigger and badder, who will put you in your place. Just go to Prison and men like that will be broken and made the little bitches they are. Sure, it might take a few of 'em to do it but if that's what it'll take, that's what happens. I grow increasingly weary, from the likes of his type and their false bravado. Will they suck a dick under pressure???
If I had my way, they'd take all the Taxpayers money, pull it from the Space projects and put it into this device. Recording and application of brainwaves, well the potential is endless.

Brainstorm (1983)

Brilliant researchers Lillian Reynolds and Michael Brace have developed a system of recording and playing back actual experiences of people. Once the capability of tapping into "higher brain functions" is added in, and you can literally jump into someone else's head and play back recordings of what he or she was thinking, feeling, seeing, etc., at the time of the recording, the applications for the project quickly spiral out of control. While Michael Brace uses the system to become close again to Karen Brace, his estranged wife who also works on the project, others start abusing it for intense sexual experiences and other logical but morally questionable purposes. The government tries to kick Michael and Lillian off the project once the vast military potential of the technology is discovered. It soon becomes obvious that the government is interested in more than just missile guidance systems. The lab starts producing mind torture recordings and other psychosis inducing material. When one of the researchers dies and tapes the experience of death, Michael is convinced that he must playback this tape to honor the memory of the researcher and to become enlightened. When another researcher dies during playback the tape is locked away and Michael has to fight against his former colleagues and the government lackeys that now run his lab in order to play back and confront the "scariest thing any of us will ever face" - death itself.
